Do you ever feel like your body is working against you? Like you're doing everything "right" but still can't get the relief you desperately need?
I see it every day in my New York City practice. People who've tried everything.
Fiber supplements, gallons of water, expensive probiotics, magnesium citrate, psyllium husk, and even those trendy colon cleanses that cost a fortune.
Yet they still can't poop regularly. Some haven't had a proper bowel movement in weeks.
They come to me feeling defeated, bloated, and frankly, like they're carrying around a burden no one else can see.
What these patients don't realize is that the conventional wisdom about constipation is dead wrong. In fact, many of the "solutions" they're trying are making things worse.
I’ve been studying digestive health for over 15 years, and I’ve helped thousands of patients reclaim their lives. During that time, I’ve identified the five surprising reasons why you can't poop.
And unfortunately, most doctors don’t know about them.
So, if you're feeling backed up, bloated, or just not "regular," chances are at least one of these hidden culprits is to blame.
Real people. Real results.

First, let's clear up a major misconception.
Most people think constipation and diarrhea are opposites. They're not.
Diarrhea is often your body's desperate attempt to get things moving when you're actually constipated. That watery stool? It's literally flowing around the hardened, stuck poop that's lodged in your colon.
This creates a vicious cycle where the most stubborn poop gets left behind, acting like velcro that grabs onto new poop. Days, weeks, even months of toxic buildup can accumulate in the grooves of your colon.
That's why so many "solutions" fail. They're not addressing the real problem.
Let me walk you through the five weird culprits behind your constipation, and then I'll reveal the simple solution that's finally giving my patients relief.
They've been faithfully following their doctor’s advice, increasing their fiber intake as recommended, yet they're getting worse instead of better.
One patient told me, "I felt like I was doing something wrong when the fiber made me feel worse. My doctor just said to take more, so I kept pushing through the discomfort, thinking eventually it would work."
Fiber has its place in a healthy diet, but when you're dealing with impacted poop, it's often counterproductive.
Adding bulk to an already stuck system simply doesn't make sense.
This causes poop to slow down as it gets caught on the walls of the colon. And when poop slows down too much, it dries out and gets stuck.
And water can’t help because when you drink water, it never actually makes it to your colon.
95% of the water you drink is absorbed in your stomach and small intestine. And as poop moves through your system, it’s losing water the whole time.
This is why so many people can drink gallons of water and still struggle with dry, hard stools that won't budge. Drinking more water might help your poop start out a little softer, but your colon’s main job is to suck the water out of poop.
Without lubrication, it doesn’t matter how much water you drink. Your poop still ends up dry, hard, and without a slippery gut lining, it gets stuck.
And the worst part? Many "healthy" foods and gut support products can actually feed these problematic bacteria. Most people don’t know this, but some bad bacteria actually eat your “good bacteria”.
So when you flood the gut with “good bacteria” without killing off the “bad bacteria”, you could be unintentionally making your symptoms worse instead of better.
When patients come to me completely frustrated because they've "tried everything," including expensive probiotics that only made them more bloated and gassy, this is often why.
Bile is the digestive fluid produced by your liver that helps break down fats. But it also serves another crucial function that most people (and many doctors) overlook.
Bile actually lubricates your intestines and promotes healthy peristalsis, the wave-like contractions that move poop through your system.
When bile production is sluggish or bile isn't flowing properly, your entire digestive process suffers. Food isn't broken down effectively, poop moves more slowly, and constipation becomes chronic.
Common triggers for reduced bile flow include:
Stress
Age
Medications
And poor diet
And these factors become particularly important as we age.
On top of age naturally reducing the amount of bile you make, stress becomes a bigger factor too. Especially if your digestive issues are a big source of stress.
And if you’re avoiding fats, that’s a problem too because fat is what tells your gut to release bile.
Add in medications that prevent bile from doing its job of digesting fats, removing toxins, and pushing poop through, and you’ve got a recipe for constipation that gets worse over time.
The final weird reason behind chronic constipation is perhaps the most overlooked:
A compromised intestinal barrier, often called "leaky gut."
When the seals between intestinal cells (called ‘tight junctions’ by doctors) become damaged, it triggers inflammation throughout your digestive tract. Think of your gut lining like a chain-link fence. When the links break apart, things slip through that shouldn't.
This inflammation disrupts normal motility (poop movement) and creates alternating periods of constipation and diarrhea.
Even more concerning, a damaged gut lining allows toxins and undigested food particles to enter your bloodstream, creating a system-wide inflammatory response that further impairs digestive function.
This explains why so many people with chronic constipation also experience fatigue, brain fog, skin issues, and other seemingly unrelated symptoms. It's all connected to gut health.
One patient described it perfectly: "I always thought my constipation, lack of energy, and skin problems were separate issues. Learning they were all connected to my gut lining was a revelation for me."
After years of watching my patients struggle, I knew there had to be a better approach to constipation relief, one that addressed these underlying issues without creating new problems.
I began researching traditional remedies from around the world, looking for natural compounds that could:
Lubricate the intestinal tract without causing dependency
Balance gut bacteria to reduce methane production
Support healthy bile production and flow
Repair and strengthen the gut lining
Gently stimulate peristalsis (poop movement) without harsh effects
After extensive research and clinical testing, I developed a solution that helped thousands of my patients finally experience regular, complete bowel movements, often after years of frustration.
The key was finding the right combination of ingredients that work synergistically to address all five weird reasons for constipation simultaneously.
I'm excited to share that my research has culminated in EMMA.
A breakthrough natural formula specifically designed to address all five constipation triggers I've identified.
DGL (Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice)
A specialized form of licorice that coats and soothes the intestinal lining while promoting natural lubrication, helping poop slide through smoothly. This addresses the "dry gut" problem that water can't fix.
Star Anise
An ancient digestive remedy that stimulates healthy bile production and kills methane-producing bacteria that slow down your gut. This double-action ingredient helps bring back natural gut movements so you can poop again.
Quercetin
A powerful flavonoid that strengthens your gut lining, reducing inflammation and aiding normal intestinal function.
Berberine
Nature's answer to harmful gut bacteria, berberine selectively targets the microbes that produce constipation-causing methane gas while preserving beneficial bacteria.
Chicory Root
A gentle prebiotic that nourishes the good bacteria in your gut, helping to support a healthy microbiome balance.
Resveratrol
Enhances the effectiveness of berberine while providing additional support for a damaged gut lining, creating a powerful synergistic effect.
Unlike fiber supplements that just add bulk, or laxatives that try to force bowel movements while making you dependent, EMMA works by assisting and supporting your body's natural digestive function.
The result? Regular, complete, satisfying bowel movements – without straining, bloating, or discomfort.
If you're tired of feeling backed up, bloated, and uncomfortable, if you're done with solutions that just add more bulk to an already clogged system, it's time to try a different approach.
EMMA addresses all five causes of chronic constipation with a gentle, effective formula that restores your body's natural ability to poop completely and regularly.
And I'm so confident in the results that every bottle comes with a 90-day satisfaction guarantee.
If you don't experience dramatic improvement in your digestive health, simply return your bottles for a full refund.
Don't waste another day feeling uncomfortable in your own body. Don't miss another important event because you're too bloated and uncomfortable to attend. Don't settle for "managing" a condition that can actually be solved.

"Eat more fiber" is probably the most common advice for constipation. But here's the truth.
For many people, fiber makes things worse.
That’s because when you're already constipated, adding more bulk to an already clogged system is like adding more cars to a traffic jam. It creates more pressure, more discomfort, and can actually make it harder to have a complete bowel movement.
I've seen countless patients who were choking down psyllium husk every morning, only to feel more bloated and uncomfortable than before.
Everyone knows hydration is important for healthy digestion. But what most people don't realize is that drinking more water doesn't automatically translate to a well-lubricated intestinal tract.
Your gut needs specific compounds to maintain its slippery mucosal lining, the stuff that helps poop slide through smoothly.
When this lining is compromised (which happens due to stress, medication, poor diet, and age), your poop ends up scraping against the walls of your intestines because there’s no lubrication. It’s like going down a water slide naked… without the water.
Here's something they didn't teach you in health class. Certain types of bacteria in your gut produce methane gas. And this isn't just about embarrassing farts.
Methane literally acts as a brake on your intestinal function, slowing down transit time by up to 59%. This gives your body more time to extract water from your poop, leaving you with hard, dry stools that are difficult to pass.
These methane-producing microbes thrive when your gut microbiome is out of balance, which is the case in up to 75% of people with chronic constipation, according to recent research. 2
